Edinburgh Airport has a lot to offer, from exciting routes to big brand shopping and a host of food and drink options. That’s a lot to shout about. And they came to Lane for a little help in doing just that with an all-in-one campaign that would promote it in a neat little creative package. The end result needed to be simple and hard working, but with standout in the busy terminal environment. Some may say it was an almost impossible brief…emphasis on the ‘almost’.

IDEA

With a bit of thinking and some handy rhyming, FLY BUY TRY EDI was born – and it has been growing legs ever since. The snappy list style campaign allowed the airport to list their offering or choose to focus right down to a specific message without deviating from the creative idea. From Amsterdam to Zurich, our location-specific imagery and messaging gave travellers some destination inspiration while targeted placements promoted pre-flight refuelling options and their impressive range of World Duty Free deals. With a range of large-scale outdoor 48 and 6-sheets, digital screens, check in screens and covered walkways, passengers couldn’t help but see the campaign in action.

IMPACT

The sign of a good campaign is one that shows no sign of stopping. Since the FLY BUY TRY EDI campaign began, we’ve had seasonal iterations, event-themed assets and the creative hook is even being used as the sign off to partner airline brand advertising across the city. It’s safe to say that FLY BUY TRY EDI is here for the long-haul.
