Double Nomination at The Marketing Society Star Awards 2017
The Lane Agency • 13th Apr 2017
We’re delighted to have been nominated in two categories at this year’s Marketing Society Star Awards. The annual awards are a prestigious event and a great indicator of the state of the Scottish marketing industry. The creativity and results on show seem stronger than ever this year so it’s a real honour for the agency.
What have we been nominated for at The Star Awards?
You may have heard that our Two Eejits campaign for CalMac Ferries scooped Digital Marketing Campaign of the Year at the Travel Marketing Awards in London last month. Well, the good news keeps coming for this campaign as it’s now been shortlisted for both the ‘Digital Campaign’ and ‘Digital Strategy’ categories at the Star Awards.
What was the Two Eejits / Millennials Pitch campaign?
The campaign has been nominated as The Millennials Pitch as this was the challenge set by the client. CalMac was keen to attract more of the elusive Millennials demographic to explore the Scottish islands by ferry. From there, we came up with the idea of two young men of questionable common sense (or Two Eejits, if you will) exploring the best that the Scottish islands have to offer.
Along the way, they were accompanied by CalMac’s brand representative, Brian (that ‘i’ rather than ‘y’ is important) Ferry.
What did the campaign achieve?
While we’re delighted that the campaign has already won one award and has now been nominated at an event as prestigious as The Marketing Society Star Awards, what’s always most important to us is achieving results for the client.
That’s why we’re not only proud of the creative work that went into this campaign, we’re also proud of the fact that it achieved an R.O.I. for CalMac Ferries of 4:1 on the initial investment.
