Giving Swifties a tasty getaway

As Taylor Swift touched down in Edinburgh, we seized the moment with a local name drop.

Insight

Taylor Swift was about to touch down in Edinburgh for a sequin-filled weekend of shows for her Eras Tour. And as name-twins, Taylors Snacks couldn’t miss a golden opportunity to get their name out there. With excitement building in the capital and armed with a limited-edition Spicy Prawn Cocktail Experimentals flavour, created just for the occasion, they came to Lane for ideas on how we could stand out on a budget.

Idea

We knew that they needed more than just a great snack to stand out to the Swifties.

Tay-tay has her Getaway Car, we created the Taylors Getaway Bike. With a nod to one of the star’s songs, we were hoping to catch the eye of fans and concert-goers.

It all started with our social teasers to build buzz that the Taylors team would be doing something special over the weekend. Then, with Lane Media securing a rickshaw and cyclist, we decked it out with eye-catching branding and another nod to her American-football-playing other half. Our Travis lookalike gave fans free rides around the city, delivering a load of content while the Taylors team gave out a van-load of free limited edition packs to folk as they made their way to the venue.

Impact

The Getaway Bike was an overnight sensation and the team on the streets were cleaned out of free crisps, with 2,000 packs vanishing in under an hour.
The Taylor-Taylors duet hit all the right content notes and went down a treat with fans from all over the world. From America to the Philippines, the Taylors name had truly gone global – not bad for a local, family run brand.
